Role of Organizational Leaders in Post-COVID-19 Retirement Preparation Strategy

Abstract

     This article aimed to 1) examine the role of organizational leadership in developing retirement strategies in the post-pandemic era, and 2) appraise the suitability of the model of the role of organizational leadership in developing retirement strategies in the post-pandemic era. This study used a mixed-methods approach, with the qualitative part covering an interview of 10 key informants. The data were analyzed by the content analysis method. The quantitative part was done with five experts appraising the suitability of the proposed model. The quantitative data analysis was done using descriptive statistics such as mean and standard deviation.

           The result showed that 1) the role of the organizational leadership in developing retirement strategies in the post-pandemic era consisted of six factors, from which a 3E+3D model was synthesized: 1) Envision: clear vision about preparation for retirement in the post-COVID era, 2) Establish: form a policy and process framework for retirement in the post-COVID era, 3) Execute: ensure an effective implementation of the strategy, 4) Develop: develop supporting resources for retirement planning, 5) Demonstrate: demonstrate understanding, reception, and support for retirement planning, and 6) Delegate: clearly delegate duties to provide personalized advice to the employees. Also, a suitability test of the 3E+3D model by the five experts showed a good suitability score ( = 4.11) and thus could be effectively employed in the organization.
