This research article aimed to: 1) examine the level of quality of work life among civil servants at the Chonburi Women’s Correctional Institution, and 2) compare the quality of work life of civil servants classified by personal factors. This study employed a quantitative research design. The sample consisted of 60 civil servants working at the Chonburi Women’s Correctional Institution. The research instrument was a Quality of Work Life questionnaire. Data were collected by administering questionnaires to the sample group and analyzed using descriptive statistics (frequencies, percentages, means, and standard deviations) and inferential statistics (t-tests and one-way analysis of variance [ANOVA]).
The findings revealed that: 1) the overall quality of work life of civil servants at the Chonburi Women’s Correctional Institution was at a moderate level (= 3.45). With consideration of each dimension, the aspect of socially relevant and beneficial work characteristics had the highest mean score, which was at a high level (= 3.94), followed by job security and career advancement (= 3.67), and social integration or teamwork (= 3.63). In contrast, work–life balance had the lowest mean score (= 2.65). 2) The hypothesis testing indicated that civil servants with different genders demonstrated significantly different levels of quality of work life at the .05 level of statistical significance, with male officers reporting higher mean scores than female officers. However, no statistically significant differences were found in relation to age, marital status, educational level, monthly income, job position, or years of work experience.
