Creating an Organizational Culture for Work-Life Balance among Police Officers: A Case Study of Bang Lamung Police Station

Abstract

          This research article aimed to: (1) examine the level of work–life balance among police officers at Banglamung Provincial Police Station, and (2) investigate the relationship between their organizational culture and work–life balance. A mixed-methods research design was employed. The study population consisted of 65 police officers from Banglamung Provincial Police Station, along with 5 key informants. The research instruments included questionnaires and interview forms. Data were collected through questionnaire distribution and in-depth interviews with key informants. The statistical methods used for data analysis comprised descriptive statistics and inferential statistics to test relationships and interpret the findings.

           The findings revealed that: (1) the overall level of work–life balance among police officers at Banglamung Provincial Police Station was at a high level. When considered by dimension and ranked in descending order of mean scores, the results were as follows: (1) management support, (2) career consequences, (3) co-worker support, and (4) time management. (2) Organizational culture was significantly related to the work–life balance of police officers at Banglamung Provincial Police Station, both overall and in specific dimensions. These dimensions included time, impact on career, support from supervisors or administrators, and support from colleagues. These factors were found to be consistent with and reflective of the current organizational context.
