The Effectiveness of Creativity-Based Learning Combined with Graphic Organizers on Reading Comprehension Achievement of Grade 9 Students at Pua School, Pua District, Nan Province

The purposes of this research were: 1) to study the achievement in reading comprehension through creativity-based learning combined with the use of graphic organizers, and 2) to examine the satisfaction of Grade 9 students at Pua School toward reading comprehension instruction using creativity-based learning combined with graphic organizers. This study employed a quasi-experimental research design. The sample group consisted of 33 Grade 9 students in the academic year 2025, selected by purposive sampling. The research instruments included: 1) lesson plans based on creativity-based learning combined with graphic organizers, 2) an English reading comprehension achievement test, and 3) a student satisfaction questionnaire. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests, as well as a satisfaction questionnaire administered after the learning activities. Data were analyzed using basic statistics, including mean (𝑥̅), standard deviation (S.D.), and a paired-samples t-test.
The research findings were as follows:
1) The reading comprehension achievement of Grade 9 students, receiving instruction through creativity-based learning combined with graphic organizers was higher after the instruction than before the instruction.
2) The overall satisfaction of Grade 9 students toward reading comprehension instruction using creativity-based learning combined with graphic organizers was at the highest level. This indicated that the instructional approach effectively enhanced students’ reading comprehension skills and promoted positive attitudes toward learning English.
