The Leadership Characteristics of School Administrators Impact on the job satisfaction of Teachers Affiliated with the Chiang Rai Provincial Office of Education Promotion

This research article aimed to study: 1) the leadership characteristics of school administrators, 2) the job satisfaction of teachers, and 3) how the leadership characteristics of school administrators affected the job satisfaction of teachers under the Office of Educational Promotion in Chiang Rai Province. This was a quantitative study using a sample group of 208 individuals, selected through stratified random sampling based on population proportions. The research instruments included a questionnaire on the leadership characteristics of school administrators and a questionnaire on teacher job satisfaction. The statistical analysis methods used in this study included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation (SD), and stepwise multiple regression analysis.
The research findings indicated that: 1) the overall leadership characteristics of school administrators were at a high level (= 4.38, SD = .73 ), 2) the overall job satisfaction of teachers was also at a high level (
= 4.42, SD = .56 ), and 3) the leadership characteristics of school administrators impacted the job satisfaction of teachers under the Office of Educational Promotion in Chiang Rai Province. The variables with the best predictive power were self-confidence (X2) and social engagement (X5). Together, these two variables could explain 50.80% of the variance in job satisfaction among teachers under the Office of Educational Promotion in Chiang Rai Province, with statistical significance at the 0.01 level and a standard error of prediction of ± 0.39628.
