Guideline for the development of cultural tourism in Chonburi Province

Abstract

         This research article aimed to study 1) the cultural tourism situation in Chonburi Province, and 2) the method for developing cultural tourism in Chonburi province. This research employed a quantitative approach. The research instrument was a questionnaire. The sample consisted of 400 Thai tourists. The statistical tools used in the research were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, One way ANOVA.

           The results of this research were the following. 1) The overall condition of cultural tourism in Chonburi Province was of a high level of importance. With consideration of each aspect, it was at a high level in all aspects. The most important aspect was tourist attractions, and the least important aspect was the accessibility of cultural tourism attractions. 2) For the guidelines for the development of cultural tourism in Chonburi Province, it overall was at a high level. With consideration of each aspect, it was at a high level in all aspects. The aspect with the highest average score was learning activities and process, and the aspect with the lowest average score was the tourism area management.

           The results of hypothesis testing found that 1) different personal factors such as gender, age, education level and income had different opinions on cultural tourism conditions in Chonburi Province; except for occupation, there were statistically significant differences at the 0.05 level. 2) For different personal factors such as gender, age, education level, occupation and income, there were no different opinions on the guidelines for developing cultural tourism in Chonburi Province
