Abstract

          The objectives of this Research were 1) to study the level of administrative roles of the school administrators in the 21st century under the Office of Chiang Rai Primary Educational service Area 1; 2) to study the level of characteristics of professional teachers; and 3) to study the relationship between the administrative roles of the school administrators and the characteristics of professional teachers. The sample group consisted of 278 government teachers at the educational institutions under the Office of Chiang Rai Primary Educational service Area 1 The research instrument was a questionnaire about the administrative roles of the educational institution administrators and characteristics of the professional teachers in the 21st century. Data analyses were processed by these statistical tools: of frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson's correlation analysis.

           The findings were: 1) the level of administrative roles of the educational institution administrators, under the Office of Chiang Rai Primary Educational service Area 1, overall was high. 2) The level of the professional teacher characteristics as a whole was at the highest 3) The relationship between the administrative roles of the school administrators and the development of the professional teacher characteristics had a statistically significant positive correlation with r=.819, and p<.001.
