Abstract

          The purposes of this research are to study the empowerment of teachers in their work under the Vocational Education Department of Uttaradit Province, and guidelines for enhancing teachers' empowerment in their work. The population used in this study consist of 375 teachers under Vocational Education in Uttaradit Province. There is a sample size of 191 people. The research tools are questionnaires and interviews. Statistical instruments used in data analysis include mean, standard deviation, and content analysis.

           The results show the followings.

  1. Empowering teachers in their work under the Vocational Education Department of Uttaradit Province, in all 5 aspects arranged from highest to lowest, are: providing personnel with information; acceptance and respect for knowledge and ability to perform tasks; creating motivation for work; giving freedom to perform work within the scope of specific authority and duties; and creating an environment, atmosphere and culture in schools, respectively.
  2. Guidelines for empowerment in the performance of teachers under the Vocational Education Department of Uttaradit Province consist of: 1.allowing personnel to obtain information, 2.providing freedom to perform duties within the scope of their authority,
    motivation in work, 4.creating environment, atmosphere and culture in educational institutions, and acceptance and respect for knowledge and ability to work.
