The Relationship between Motivation and Performance of Teachers in New Normal Concept at the Medium-Sized Schools in Chiang Rai Primary Educational Service Area Office 2, Chiang Rai Province

This research article’s objectives were: 1) the levels of teacher motivation in performance; 2) to study the levels of performance of teachers according to the New Normal concept; and 3) to find the relationship between the motivation and the performance of teachers according to the New Normal concept at the medium-sized schools in Chiang Rai Primary Educational Service Area 2. The samples used in this research consisted of 326 teachers at the medium-sized schools in Chiang Rai Primary Educational Service Area 2. The tool used in this research was a questionnaire consisting of personal data, performance motivation, and performance of teachers at the medium schools in Chiang Rai Primary Educational Service Area 2. The statistics instruments used for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson's correlation analysis.
The research results showed that 1) the level of motivation-motivating factors overall was at a high level with means of 4.09 and SD of 0.69, and overall, the motivation support was at a high level with means of 4.06 and SD of 0.80; 2) the level of performance overall, was at a high level with means of 3.76 and SD of 0.81; and 3) the relationship between motivation and performance of teachers according to the New Normal concept. The motivating factors were job success, recognition, nature of work, job responsibilities, progress in work; the sustaining factors were organizational policy, administration, command and supervision, relationship between supervisors and subordinates job position, job security, personal life, working conditions, and remuneration. There was a positive correlation (p=.578), (p=.424) with teachers' performance according to the New Normal concept, with the statistical significance at 0.05 level.
