An Analysis of Leadership Components of Female Administrators at Schools under the Nan Primary Educational Service Area Office, Region 1

Abstract

          The purposes of this study were: to analyze the components and to study the level of opinions towards the leadership components of female administrators at schools under the Nan Primary Educational Service Area Office, Region 1. A quantitative research model was used. There were 350 government teachers and educational personnel under the Nan Primary Educational Service Area Office, Region 1, whom were randomly stratified by school sizes. The research tool was questionnaires. Statistical instruments used for data analysis were mean, standard deviation and exploratory component analysis.

           The results showed that leadership components of female administrators at schools under the Nan Primary Educational Service Area Office, Region 1 consisted of six components: 1. good role model with the variable weights in the components between 0.560 - 0.860.; 2. human relations with the weight of variables between 0.827 - 0.862; 3. work orientation with the weights of variables between 0.834 - 0.847; 4. communication and decision making with the weights of variables between 0.799 - 0.815; 5. building faith with the weights of variables between 0.780 to 0.808; and 6. intrinsic motivation with the weights of variables between 0.717 - 0.772.  All six components could explain the total variance at 89.106 percent. The level of opinions on the whole components of leadership of female administrators at schools under the Nan Primary Educational Service Area Office, Region 1 was at a high level. With consideration of  each component, work orientation had the highest mean = 4.14, S.D = 0.992, and communication and decision making had the lowest mean = 4.05  S.D = 1.001.
