Abstract

           This research article aimed to study the needs and the guidelines for creating the relationship between schools and communities of mall-size Schools in Pua district under Nan primary educational service area office 2; the population used according to the objectives of the 1st research consisted of 19 school administrators, 76 teachers, 19 chairmen of basic school board committees and 19 parent representatives, totally 133 people. The target group used in Phase 2 included 2 school administrators, 1 supervisor, 2 teachers responsible for community relations, 2 school board committee chairmen and 2 parent representatives, totally 9 people. Tools used to collect data were questionnaires and interview forms; statistical instruments used in data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, demand index, needs priority index, and content analysis.

           The results showed that the needs for the creation of the relationship between the schools and communities of small-size schools in Pua district under Nan primary educational service area office 2, in order of descending order, namely were: creation of the relationship between the schools and communities of small-size schools; community assistance and support receipts, roles of the basic school board committees, public relations, and community services. For the  strengthening relationships between communities and local governments under the office of Nan primary educational service area office 2, there were 5 aspects: namely creation of the relationship between the schools and communities of small-size schools with provision of community services, and disseminating knowledge, information, news to community; public relations, appointing a person responsible for these responsibilities; roles of basic school board committees;  inviting  to attend the school meetings; community assistance and fundraising support, and strengthening relationships between community and local governments with plans, projects and activities.
