Guidelines for Private Banking Organization Development and its Personnel Management in the Era of Digital Disruption

Abstract

          This research study aimed to study a guideline for private banking organization development and its personnel management in the era of digital disruption.  It was qualitative research by using in-depth interviews approach. Data were collected and selected by purposive sampling from 20 key informants using private banking at the top 5 commercial banks registered in Thailand in 2022, including Siam Commercial Bank, KBank, KTB, Bank of Ayudhya, and Bangkok Bank.

           The research found that these various considerations should be made for private banking organizational development and its personnel management in the era of digital disruption. 1) To meet organizational policy and vision, banks need to adapt and drive knowledge and innovation, systematically changing the management system. 2) To achieve organizational objectives and needs, banks should develop human resources based on the four principles of effectiveness, efficiency, value, and flexible adaptability. This also includes an adjustment of the work methods of personnel to be in line with the age of digital disruption and the New Normal. 3) In designing human resource development, banks ought to develop the needed digital skills for people, creativity, and innovation skills to retain high-potential personnel with the organization. 4) In recruiting and selecting potential personnel, banks should apply modern technology and use online social networks to assist in recruiting. 5) To achieve strategies for retaining high-potential personnel, banks push the compensation side up, create a path for growth in the profession, and promote and encourage continuous learning opportunities.
