The Problems and School Administration Guidelines: the Normal School Opening Policy after the COVID-19 Epidemic under Muang Saraburi Municipality

Abstract

     This research article aimed to study the problem conditions and school administration guidelines according to the normal school opening policy after the COVID-19 epidemic situation under Muang Saraburi Municipality. The key informants were 10 school administrators under the Saraburi Municipality. The data were collected by the in-depth interviews, and analyzed by the content analysis. The research revealed the following.

           For problems with the normal school opening in the administration of measures 6-6-7, the educational institutions were unable to thoroughly supervise students especially during school breaks and going home. For the student side, it was caused by the connection and lack of continuity from online learning. For the parents, it was a persistent problem related to the occupations, making it impossible to contact the class teachers. Also, for the personnel in educational institutions, there were no specific problems in returning to the normal school but it was a general problem related to the numbers of teachers such as personnel insufficiency. The teachers were not assigned for their subject specialties.

           For the school administration guidelines according to the normal school opening policy, it found that the administrations, according to measures 6-6-7, concentrated on a preparation before opening, and strictly implemented it. For the student side, it focused on understanding creation with learners through multiple channels. Also, it emphasized understanding building with parents through parent the overview meetings. Moreover, for the personnel in educational institutions it focused on the self-improvement of teachers in instructional design for reducing the students’ barriers.
