Economic factors and organizational commitment affecting the quality of life of monthly employees in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) under the epidemic situation of the COVID-19 virus

Abstract

          This research aimed: 1) to study the levels of economic factors and corporate commitment, and monthly employees’ quality of life in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC); 2) to study the demographic factors of monthly employees on the levels of quality of life; and 3) to study the economic factors and the levels of corporate engagement affecting the monthly employees’ quality of life. The researcher used a quantitative research method with 400 copies of the opinion questionnaires, the statistical one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and multiple regression analysis (MRA).

           The results showed that the levels of the factors studied were summarized as follows: 1) the mean level of economic factors was 3.41, at a high level; 2) the mean level of organizational commitment factor was 3.39, at a moderate level; and 3) the mean level of quality of life was 3.42, at a high level. Apparently, the age and education levels were two factors with significantly different mean level of quality of life. The economic factors affecting the levels of quality of life were: 1) other opportunities for income-earning, 2) factors in the ability to save money; 3) the spread of the COVID-19 virus; 4) financial liquidity; and 5) debt management capability. The organizational commitment factors affecting the level of quality of life were: 1) the willingness to contribute to the organization; and 2) the feeling of loyalty to the organization.
