The conceptual framework of the study was based on Human Capital Theory, which posits that the knowledge, skills, and experiences individuals acquire through education and training are key factors affecting their work efficiency and effectiveness. The sample consisted of 122 participants, with the sample size determined using the formula proposed by Tabachnick and Fidell (2013), which is commonly used for multiple regression analysis. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive statistics, including means and standard deviations, as well as inferential statistics such as correlation coefficients and multiple regression analysis.</p> <p>The research results showed that all aspects of career skills had a high average level. Job performance was also at a high level in both task performance and contextual performance. The hypothesis testing results revealed that three domains of professional skills significantly influenced overall job performance: accountability (X7), responsibility (X9), and self-direction (X4). The standardized regression equation can be expressed as follows: Z = 0.484 (X7) + 0.314 (X9) + 0.188 (X4). These three skill domains collectively accounted for 86.7% of the variance in job performance. The findings suggest that higher education curricula, particularly in vocational and technical universities, should place greater emphasis on developing students’ responsibility for outcomes, responsibility for duties, and self-regulation. Their dynamics reflect the contestation and accommodation of interests among states, capital, and local communities. This study aimed to elucidate borderland dynamics and analyze power relations and the politics of security at the subregional level, using a Critical Political Economy and Contemporary Security framework. The findings indicated that regional cooperation mechanisms such as GMS and ACMECS, while advancing trade, faced challenges from cross-border labor, informal economies, and inequitable benefit distribution. Special Economic Zones (SEZs) also exacerbated inequality and weaken community bargaining power. Findings original contribution was the Integrated Borderland Dynamics Model, which interlinks state–capital–community relations with multiple dimensions of security, offering a policy framework to foster comprehensive security and promote a sustainable border economy.</p>2025-10-21T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of MCU Social Science Reviewhttps://so03.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jssr/article/view/289329TAX INJUSTICE IN THE INCOME TAXATION OF ORDINARY PARTNERSHIPS: A JURISPRUDENTIAL ANALYSIS UNDER THAI TAX LAW AND CONSTITUTIONAL PRINCIPLES2025-07-15T20:14:37+07:00Jakkit Krataiwongphachandjakkitk@gmail.comChatpong Pakdechjakkitk@gmail.com<p>This article focuses on analyzing the problem of unfairness in the collection of personal income tax on partners of ordinary partnerships and unincorporated joint ventures in Thailand. These entities are required to pay tax at the business level, and when profits are distributed to the partners, such income must again be included in the calculation of personal income tax without the right to claim a tax credit for taxes already paid. This results in double taxation, which conflicts with the principles of ability to pay, tax fairness, and the rule of law. The analysis is conducted from a legal perspective and through comparison with tax systems in other countries, namely the United States, Germany, Malaysia, Singapore, and the United Kingdom, in order to propose solutions to the problem of double taxation in business. The findings indicate that the United States has a partnership and LLC structure that allows partners to directly receive foreign tax credits and investment credits, effectively reducing the burden of double taxation. Germany, Malaysia, Singapore, and the United Kingdom employ pass-through systems for partnership income, but foreign tax credits and investment credits are not passed directly to the partners, with only international tax credit mechanisms available within treaty frameworks. The practice of double taxation in Thailand may be inconsistent with the principles of equality and justice under Section 27 of the Thai Constitution, which stipulates that taxation must be fair and lawful. This article therefore proposes solutions such as legislating to allow partners to claim tax credits or formally adopting a pass-through tax system for ordinary partnerships, as well as making effective use of double taxation agreements. These measures aim to uphold the rule of law and strengthen the competitiveness of Thai businesses in the global arena.</p>2025-10-21T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of MCU Social Science Reviewhttps://so03.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jssr/article/view/291976BALADHAMMA AND THE SUSTAINABLE SELF-DEVELOPMENT OF ATHLETES2025-07-29T09:53:05+07:00Nattapon Antarasenapoppynatty@gmail.com<p>This article proposes the application of the five spiritual strengths (Baladhamma) faith (saddha), energy (viriya), mindfulness (sati), concentration (samadhi), and wisdom (pañña) as inner powers that foster profound and sustainable self-development for athletes in physical, mental, and intellectual dimensions. The study demonstrates that these strengths are not merely abstract principles but can be transformed into practical approaches compatible with the world of sports. Faith inspires motivation and confidence, energy strengthens perseverance and discipline, mindfulness enables awareness and emotional regulation, concentration cultivates stability under pressure, and wisdom allows athletes to learn and accept outcomes rationally. Together, these qualities form a process of self-cultivation that goes beyond physical success toward enduring inner growth. Case studies of athletes, both Thai and international such as the meditation practice of Thailand’s national badminton players, the mindfulness training of Panipak Wongpattanakit, and Novak Djokovic’s mental discipline clearly reflect how Baladhamma can be applied in both competition and daily life. The new conceptual knowledge emerging from this study is the notion of the inner game of the athlete, which emphasizes that the true competition lies within oneself, and that overcoming one’s own mind through Baladhamma is the essence of becoming a complete athlete. The conclusion affirms that Baladhamma is not merely an alternative but a crucial framework for developing the qualities of modern athletes, enabling them to cultivate stable inner strength, understand the meaning of success, and live in balanced and sustainable ways both on and off the field.</p>2025-10-21T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of MCU Social Science Reviewhttps://so03.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jssr/article/view/289595THE CONCEPTS OF MOVEMENT IN THE PRASANNAPADĀ2025-06-27T09:54:13+07:00Tiwa Sukhumsukhum.tiwa@gmail.comSombat Mangmeesukhsirisukhum.tiwa@gmail.com<p>Objectives of this article were to study the disputation on Motion in the second chapter of the Prasannapadā, titled gatāgataparīkṣā in order to elucidate its perspective on motion and to identify the philosophical schools it seeked to challenge. The primary source used in this study was written in the Sanskrit Devanagari script, compiled by Louis de La Vallée Poussin in the book Madhyamakavṛttiḥ: Mālamadhyamakakārikās (Mādhyamikasūtras) de Nāgārjuna avec la Prasannapadā Commentaire de Candrakīrti. The study was found that, in the Prasannapadā, Chapter II, motion did not truly exist but was merely an illusion arising from ignorance (avidyā). It also revealed that this chapter aimed to refute the Vaibhāṣika school’s notion of the three times (trikāla) to motion by rejecting the existence of the present moment as real, and to refute the Yogācāra school’s view concerning the starting point and the endpoint of motion, by demonstrating the inherent contradictions within these conceptual frameworks.</p>2025-10-21T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of MCU Social Science Reviewhttps://so03.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jssr/article/view/289261LEGAL ANALYSIS ON THE ADMINISTRATION OF PHUTTHAMONTHON LAND: INTEGRATING DONOR’S INTENT, LEGAL PRINCIPLES, AND RELIGIOUS AUTONOMY2025-05-22T09:17:04+07:00Jakkit Krataiwongphachandjakkitk@gmail.comPhrametheewatcharaprachathorn (Prayoon Nantiyo)jakkitk@gmail.comChatpong Pakdechjakkitk@gmail.com<p>This academic article aims to analyze the legal status of the Phutthamonthon land, a significant religious site in Thailand. The origin of the land stems from the intention of laypeople who donated it as an offering to the Buddha and for the establishment of a national center for the dissemination of Buddhism on the occasion of the 25th Buddhist Century. However, a legal dispute later emerged when the Treasury Department attempted to register the land as state property (ratchapatsadu) under Sections 8 and 17 of the State Property Act B.E. 2562 (2019), on the grounds that the land was acquired using the national budget. In contrast, the National Office of Buddhism and the Sangha Supreme Council argued that the land should be classified as central ecclesiastical property in accordance with Section 40 of the Sangha Act B.E. 2505 (1962), which assigns custodianship to the National Office of Buddhism on behalf of the religion This article employs documentary research to examine relevant domestic legal principles, including Section 171 of the Civil and Commercial Code, which emphasizes the true intention of the person expressing legal intent, and compares them with international legal doctrines concerning the autonomy of religious organizations. An example is the principle of Religious Autonomy as established in the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Watson v. Jones, which held that the state should refrain from intervening in or claiming direct ownership over religious property. The study concludes that the state should uphold the original intent of the donors and the rule of law, and refrain from claiming ownership of Phutthamonthon land. Instead, the state should play a supportive and protective role. The article recommends legislative amendments, the establishment of a central ecclesiastical property management committee, and the development of a systematic registration of religious properties to ensure legal and ethical consistency with both secular legal frameworks and Buddhist principles.</p>2025-10-21T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of MCU Social Science Reviewhttps://so03.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jssr/article/view/291523THE NEOLIBERAL MODE OF THOUGHT AND THE DECLINE OF LIBERAL DEMOCRACY2025-08-02T11:40:17+07:00Witsathon LeesirakiadtikunWitsathon.Lee@stou.ac.th<p>Neoliberalism is generally presented as a concept compatible with liberal democracy because it emphasizes individual freedom of choice in a free market. This emphasis thus aligns with the concept of individual liberty as one of the core principles of liberal democracy. However, this article argued that neoliberalism as a mode of thought centered only on utility, measurable outcomes and quantitative success can undermine liberal democracy since it marginalized the humanities and some parts of social sciences – disciplines whose main objective was not to produce utility or measurable success but to cultivate rational, responsible and tolerant citizens essential to the persistence of liberal democratic society. Therefore, a possible consequence of the said circumstance is the decline of liberal democracy.</p>2025-10-21T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of MCU Social Science Review
