TY - JOUR AU - วงศ์กิตติธร, ฐานันดร PY - 2016/01/01 Y2 - 2024/03/28 TI - การแปลวิดีโอเกม: ภาพรวมของกระบวนการและประเด็นศึกษาด้านการแปล JF - Journal of Letters JA - J of LETT VL - 45 IS - 1 SE - Academic Articles DO - UR - https://so03.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jletters/article/view/65784 SP - 47-82 AB - <p>ในปัจจุบัน สาร ข้อมูล และตัวบทที่ต้องแปลเพื่อเผยแพร่สื่อสารกับผู้คนทั่วโลกเพิ่มขึ้นและเปลี่ยนแปลงไปทั้งในเชิงปริมาณและรูปแบบ จากที่การแปลในอดีตมักจะอยู่ในรูปแบบของสื่อสิ่งพิมพ์ เปลี่ยนแปลงมาสู่การแปลสารที่ปรากฏบนหน้าจอ และเข้าสู่ยุคการแปลสื่อมัลติมีเดีย ไม่ว่าจะเป็น การแปลเว็บไซต์ ซอฟต์แวร์ และสื่อบันเทิงประเภทต่างๆ โดยบทความฉบับนี้มุ่งประเด็นศึกษาไปที่การแปลสื่อบันเทิงมัลติมีเดีย แบบอินเตอร์แอคทีฟประเภทวิดีโอเกม ซึ่งถือเป็นสื่อบันเทิงประเภทใหม่ที่กำลังมีบทบาทและสร้างรายได้ทัดเทียมสื่อภาพยนตร์ เหตุนี้ทำให้หลายภาคส่วนตื่นตัวและเร่งพัฒนาศักยภาพเพื่อรองรับอุตสาหกรรมบันเทิงดังกล่าว อย่างไรก็ตาม ผู้ผลิตรายใหญ่ยังคงเป็นผู้ผลิตจากต่างประเทศ การเผยแพร่จึงต้องอาศัยการแปลเพื่อเป็นสื่อกลางในการแลกเปลี่ยนค้าขายระหว่างวัฒนธรรมนี้ แต่เป็นที่น่าเสียดายว่าการแปลวิดีโอเกมยังจำกัดอยู่เฉพาะในวงธุรกิจเท่านั้น การศึกษาและวิจัยการแปลสื่อประเภทนี้ยังนับว่าห่างไกลกับการแปลภาพยนตร์อยู่มาก โดยเฉพาะการศึกษาวิจัยการแปลวิดีโอเกมในประเทศไทยที่อาจพูดได้ว่า “ยังไม่มีการเริ่มต้น” บทความนี้จึงขอนำเสนอที่มาและความสำคัญ ภาพรวมของกระบวนการแปล รวมถึงประเด็นศึกษาที่น่าสนใจเกี่ยวกับ วิดีโอเกมเพื่อเป็นประโยชน์ต่อการศึกษาวิจัยในอนาคต</p><p><strong>Game Localisation: </strong><strong>A Process Overview and Translation Issues</strong></p><p>At the present time, messages, information, and texts that need to be translated with the purposes of distribution and communication are drastically increasing both in form and number. From the traditional printed material translation to audio-visual media translation, now it is the era of multimedia translation: website and software localisation. This article aims to study the translation of a new type of interactive entertainment software, namely video game. Video game is a new marked entertainment media which has a significant influence, parallels to movie, on current media and entertainment industry; this fact encourages all other relevant parties to develop their potential for the mentioned industry. However, most major game manufacturers are Japanese, American, and British. This is why translation has become an essential tool of this intercultural business communication. Unfortunately, video game localisation is limited only in business sections and has not yet become a widely researched subject compared with screen translation, especially in Thailand where it could be concluded that an initial action has not been taken. This article, therefore, introduces background and significance, a process overview, and translation issues of video game localisation.</p> ER -
