Factors Affecting Student Participation in Student Activities at Thailand National Sports University, Lampang Campus

The purpose of this research article aimed to investigate the factors affecting student participation in extracurricular activities at Thailand National Sports University, Lampang Campus. This study employed a quantitative research design. The population consisted of 515 undergraduate students, and data were collected from the entire population. A structured questionnaire was used as the research instrument. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including mean and standard deviation, as well as multiple regression analysis.
The findings revealed that three independent variables significantly influenced student participation in the extracurricular activities at Thailand National Sports University, Lampang Campus. Ranked in order of their predictive influence, these factors were: (1) physical health and public-minded attitude, (2) knowledge and experience enhancement, and (3) leadership and self-confidence in self-expression. The multiple correlation coefficient (R) was 0.535, indicating that these variables jointly explained 28.60% of the variance in student participation. The resulting predictive equation was developed as follows:
