Factors Influencing the Decision-Making in the Election of the Chief Executive of Wat Phrik Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mueang Phitsanulok District, Phitsanulok Province

This research aimed to 1) examine the levels of factors affecting decision-making in the election of the Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO) President, 2) compare factors affecting decision-making in the election of the SAO President, and 3) propose guidelines for decision-making in the election of the SAO President of Wat Phrik subdistrict, Mueang Phitsanulok district, Phitsanulok province. This study employed a quantitative research approach using a survey method. The sample consisted of 400 eligible voters in the Wat Phrik Subdistrict Administrative Organization area. A questionnaire was used as the data collection instrument. Data were analyzed using inferential statistics, including the t-test and one-way analysis of variance (One-way ANOVA).
The results revealed that 1) the level of decision-making in the election of the Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO) Chief Executive was rated at the highest level in terms of the candidate’s personal qualifications, policy proposals, and image and credibility. 2) regarding personal factors, gender showed no statistically significant difference in decision-making for the election of the SAO Chief Executive. However, differences in age, marital status, educational level, occupation, and monthly income significantly affected decision-making in the election of the SAO Chief Executive at the .05 level of statistical significance. 3) Concerning recommendations for decision-making in the election of the SAO Chief Executive, the results indicated that voters in Wat Phrik subdistrict should consider moral integrity, vision, administrative competence, and public participation when selecting a candidate. This would help ensure effective local governance and responsiveness to the genuine public interest.
