Organizational Strategies for Retaining Police Officers: A Case Study of Bang Lamung Police Station

Abstract

          This research article aimed to: (1) examine the level of organizational commitment among police officers at Banglamung Provincial Police Station; (2) compare their organizational commitment classified by personal factors; and (3) investigate the relationship between work motivation factors and employee retention within the organization. A quantitative research methodology was employed. The sample consisted of 127 police officers. A questionnaire was used as the research instrument. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, as well as inferential statistics such as One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Pearson's Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient.

           The findings revealed that: (1) the police officers at Bang Lamung Police Station demonstrated a high overall level of organizational retention intention; (2) with comparison of retention intention classified by demographic factors such as age, marital status, education level, monthly income, and years of service, all groups showed a high level of organizational retention intention (𝑥̄ = 4.15); and (3) regarding the relationship between work motivation factors and employee retention, the officers reported a high level of work motivation
(𝑥̄ = 3.91), along with a high level of intention to remain in the organization (𝑥̄ = 4.15).
