Roles of Ecclesiastical Administrative Monks towards Administration of the Sangha Council in Mueang Loei Districe, Loei Province

The purposes of this research article were 1) to study the role of the Sanghathikan in governing the Sangha, 2) to compare the role of the Sanghathikan in governing the Sangha, 3) to study the problems, obstacles, and suggestions for the role of the Sanghathikan in governing the Sangha in Mueang Loei District, Loei Province. This study is quantitative, based on a sample of 222 monks. The data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using F-test. The findings were as follows:
1) The role of the Sanghathikan in governing the Sangha in Mueang Loei District overall was at a high level.
2) The Sanghathikan’s opinions towards the roles of governing the Sangha overall, classified by age, years of ordination, Pali studies, Dhamma studies, secular studies, and length of tenure, there were different levels of opinions on the role of the Sangha administration in Mueang Loei District, Loei Province.
3) Regarding suggestions on the role of the Sanghathikan in governing the Sangha, the respondents made the following suggestions:
3.1 In terms of governance, the Sangha leaders should go to the area to care for and encourage the morale of their subordinates.
3.2 In terms of religious studies, separate classrooms for Buddhist studies should be set up specifically for Buddhist studies teaching activities.
3.3 In the area of educational welfare, scholarships should be distributed to those who truly need them.
