Motivational Factors Affecting Organizational Commitment of Police Officers at Banglamung Police Station

This research aimed to 1) to study the levels of organizational commitment of the police officers at Bang Lamung Police station, 2) to compare the levels of their organizational commitment classified by personal factors, and 3) to study the relationship between their work motivation and organizational commitment. This study used quantitative research. The sample group in this research consisted of 65 police officers, by a purposive sampling method, and the questionnaire was used to collect data. The statistical techniques were Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, One-Way ANOVA and Pearson’s Moment Product Correlation.
The research results showed that the organizational commitment of the police officers at Bang Lamung Police station was at a high level overall ( = 4.15). With comparison of the personal factors, it was found that the police officers at Bang Lamung Police station with different ages, status, education levels, incomes, job positions, and length of service had similar levels of their organizational commitment. This can be seen from the analysis of the level of their work motivation at a high level overall ( = 3.79). The relationship between their work motivation and organizational commitment was positively and moderately related (0.49). The work motivation affected the level of their organizational commitment, with the overall level of commitment at a high level ( = 4.15).
