Abstract

          The research purposes were to study the efficiency of the public health management according to the views of the public health administrators and practitioners; to compare opinions classified by the age and experience in the public health work; and to study problems and suggestions. This was survey research. The sample group consisted of the 299 household heads in the Jorakaehin Subdistrict Administrative Organization. The research instrument was the questionnaire. For the data analysis, the statistical tools were the frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.

           The research findings were:

  1. The overall of public health management was at the highest level; the descending means were the aspect of maintaining cleanliness of waterways and drainage, the aspect of service plans and policies, the aspect of waste and garbage disposal, the aspect of disease prevention and control, and the aspect of natural resources and environmental conservation, respectively.
  2. The public health practitioners classified by the different age and experience in public health work found the factors affecting the efficiency of public health management of Jorakaehin  Subdistrict Administrative Organization did not different.
  3. The suggestions for solving problems of public health management efficiency included: (1) the aspect of waste and garbage disposal: providing trash cans for every household, separating and collect garbage, and always publicizing information; (2) the aspect of maintaining cleanliness of waterways and drainage: cleaning, repairing drainage channels, informing or publicizing to the people in the area; (3) the aspect of disease prevention and control: preparing manuals, documents, and pamphlets to distribute to people in the area to be informed, to prevent and cope correctly, and to arrange for mobile doctors to facilitate and speed up the provision of health service; and (4) the aspect of natural resources and environmental conservation: organizing forest planting activities and providing public parks as places for people to relax.
