Abstract

          The purposes of this research were: 1) to study the work motivation of teachers in Chiang  Rai Private Schools, Office 4; 2) to study the organizational commitment of teachers in Chiang Rai Private Schools, Office 4; and 3) to study the relationship between work motivation and organizational commitment of teachers in Chiang Rai Private Schools, Office 4 under Chiang Rai Provincial Education Office. This study involved quantitative research. The population used in the study consisted of 228 teachers from private schools under the Chiang Rai Private Schools Office, Region 4, supervised by the Chiang Rai Provincial Education Office. These teachers had at least one year of work experience. The sample size was 144 individuals. The research tool was a questionnaire, which had an overall reliability coefficient of 0.892. Statistics used in the data analysis included percentage, mean, and standard deviation.

           The research results showed that: 1) the work motivation of teachers in private schools under the Chiang Rai Private Schools Office, Region 4, supervised by the Chiang Rai Provincial Education Office, was at a high level; 2) the overall level of organizational commitment among these teachers was also high; 3) there was a strong positive correlation between work motivation and organizational commitment (r = .834), which was statistically significant at the .01 level.
