Abstract

         The objectives were to study the general situation, problems, and obstacles, as well as to propose strategies for preparing for retirement among local government officials in Wachirabarami district, Phichit province. Use the total population from the area survey who are 40 years of age or older was 242 people individuals. Statistics used in quantitative research included data analysis, percentages, means, standard deviations, t-tests, f-tests, and paired tests (LSD).

           This research found that 1. The preparedness for retirement among local government officials in Wachirabarami district, Phichit province, was rated as high in terms of physical health, with the highest average score in consuming nutritious food supporting digestion. Regarding mental health, it was also rated as high, with the highest average score in having good encouragement and support from oneself and surrounding people. Financial preparedness was also high, with the highest average score in managing personal finances and retirement planning. Social involvement was rated as high, with the highest average score in having good relationships with people in the community. Lastly, leisure time utilization was rated as the highest, with the highest average score in engaging in recreational activities during leisure time. Relationship with spouse and family members was also rated as the highest, with the highest average score in having good relationships with family members. 2. Problems and obstacles in preparing for retirement were found to be the most restrictive in allocating financial resources. Also, there was a guideline for preparing to enter retirement age, which was to prepare finances for savings. Emergency savings plan and stable investment for future preparation.
