Abstract

          The purposes of this research were: 1) to study the leadership levels of the sub-district village headmen in Bang Rakam district, Phitsanulok province, 2) to study the factors affecting their leadership, and 3) to study the recommendations based on the factors affecting the leadership. It was quantitative research. There was a population of 426 people. The research tool was a questionnaire. The data were analyzed by the descriptive statistics. The statistical instruments were: percentage, mean, frequency, standard deviation (SD) and Multiple Linear Regression Analysis.

           The results of research were as follow: 1) the overall level of leadership of the sub-district village headmen in Bang Rakam district, Phitsanulok province was high with the means of 4.17, 2) the factors affecting the leadership of the sub-district village headmen were motivation, public consciousness, and government supports, totally with a prediction of 54.4%, and 3) the guidelines for developing work performance, according to the roles and responsibilities of the sub-district village headmen. The Department of Provincial Administration should give importance of the trainings of the village headmen: regulations of their authority and duties, which should be publicly announced.
