Guidelines for Solving Pedestrian Walkway Problems in Bang Khae District Bangkok Province Area

Abstract

          The objectives of this research were 1) to investigate guidelines for solving pedestrian walkway problems in Bang Khae District Area, 2) to examine the factors influencing the problems and obstacles related to pedestrian walkways in Bang Khae District Area, The study was quantitative research. Research population was pedestrians within the Bang Khae area. According to unknow number of population, a sample size, by means of unknown number of population technique, consisted of 396 people obtained by accidental sampling. Statistical techniques utilized in this study encompassed percentages, mean, standard deviations, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson product-moment correlation.

           The study findings revealed that 1) the overall opinions about problems and obstacles affecting pedestrian walkways were at a high level; 2) personal factors such as gender and age had differences in guidelines for solving pedestrian walkway problems in Bang Khae district area, with statistical significance at the 0.05 level. Moreover, factors related to problems and obstacles related to pedestrian walkways in Bang Khae district area had positive relationship with the use of walkway ,with the statistical significance at the 0.00 level, in accordance with the assumptions; 3) the recommendation related governmental agency should formulate , implement and monitor the pedestrian walkway policy strictly and effectively for problem prevention and management
