Factors Influencing Voters' Decisions on House of Representatives Election in the 2023, Constituency 1, Satun Province

Abstract

          This research aimed to study the levels of decision-making of voters on the 2023 Thai general election for the first electoral district of Satun Province; to compare personal factors with decision-making in the 2023 Thai general election for the first electoral district of Satun Province; and to study the factors associated with voter awareness of the 2023 Thai general election in the first electoral district of Satun province. A sample consisted of 399 people.

           The research instrument was a questionnaire. Data were analyzed by calculating frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and Pearson's product moment correlation coefficient. The results of the research found that: 1) the overall level of decision-making in the 2023 Thai general election for the first electoral district of Satun Province was high; 2) Personal factors associated with decision-making in the 2023 Thai general election for the first electoral district of Satun Province were different. In terms of age, education level, occupation, and income, there were different voting decisions for the 2023 Thai general election. In terms of gender, there was no difference in voting decisions for the 2023 Thai general election. Also, 3) factors associated with voter awareness of the 2023 Thai general election in the first electoral district of Satun Province showed that awareness of election news from all types of media played an important role in decision-making in the 2023 Thai general election for the first electoral district of Satun Province.
