Thai Society: Corruption and Solution

Abstract

          The objectives of this academic article are to present the concepts, cause, and factors   of corruption and to provide strategies for preventing and addressing corruption problems in    Thai society. The goal is to create knowledge and understanding of the corruption process that has been occurring in Thai society for a long time, from the past to the present. The corruption is a misconduct involving acts of commission or omission, with the aim of gaining illicit benefits for oneself and associates. The corruption is an incorrect and unethical behavior, causing severe negative consequences for society and contributing to various problems in different sectors of society. Examples include a corruption in the mega projects, embezzlement of welfare funds    for the low-income population, misappropriation of temple donations, mismanagement of “grey area” funds, and sticker subsidies. These issues must be addressed, prevented, and eradicated through legal measures, the application of good governance principles, and the cooperation of all sectors of society for more effective and fruitful results in the future.
