Guidelines for the Efficiency for Crime Prevention and Suppression of Pornography on Online Platforms in Thailand: A Case Study of the OnlyFans Platform

This research article aimed to study problems and obstacles to preventing and suppressing crime-related pornography, and propose guidelines for the more efficient prevention and suppression on the OnlyFans platform. Qualitative research was done with data gathered by a literature review, and in-depth interviews with samples involved in policy or policy administration, including staff, officials and stakeholders.
Results showed that the problems and obstacles to preventing and suppressing pornography-related on the Onlyfans platform were budget, personnel, legal, technological, and social issues. Guidelines proposed for more efficient prevention and suppression in pornography-related crimes on the online platforms comprise the educational measures to increase knowledge and awareness preventing the root causes, especially with children and youth. Legal measures should adjust and increase efforts in diverse areas, such as heightening inter-agency coordination, and stringent monitoring, and screening the online platform access, as well as revising laws for the current corporate contexts.
