Relationship between Transformative Leadership of School Administrators with Motivation for Teachers at Meritorious Private Schools, Chiang Rai Province

Abstract

           The purposes of this research article were to study: 1) transformational leadership of administrators at the meritorious private schools; 2) motivation for performance of teachers in the meritorious private schools; and 3) the relationship between transitional leadership of school administrators and teacher performance motivation at the meritorious private schools in Chiang Rai province. The sample consisted of 152 teachers at the meritorious private schools in Chiang Rai province.The hierarchical random sampling method was used. The research tools used in the Research were questionnaires, 5 level evaluation scales, reliability values of 0.981, transformation leadership of 0.935, and teacher performance motivation of 0.980; the statistical instruments were percentage, mean, standard deviation; and the correlation was determined by Pearson’s correlation coefficient.

           The results of the research revealed that 1) the transformational leadership of administrators at the meritorious private schools in Chiang Rai province overall had the average at a high level with means of 4.40 and SD  of 0.51; 2) the motivation for the performance of teachers at the meritorious private school in Chiang Rai province overall was at a high level with means of 4.28 and SD of 0.37; ; and 3) transformational leadership of the school administrators had a positive relationship with teacher performance motivation at the meritorious private schools in Chiang Rai province, with the statistical significance at the level (r = 0.751 , P<.01).
