The Administration Affecting Professional Development of Teachers for Professional Learning Community of Secondary Schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office, Phrae Province

Abstract

          This research aimed to study: 1) levels of the secondary school administration; 2) levels of professional development of teachers for professional learning community of secondary schools; and 3) the administration affecting professional development of teachers for professional learning community of secondary schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office, Phrae Province. There were 260 participants including school administrators and teachers in the secondary schools. The research instrument was the questionnaires about the administration of secondary schools and professional development of teachers for professional learning community of secondary schools. The statistical tools used in data analysis were percentage mean, standard deviation, and multiple regressions of Stepwise regression method.

            The results showed that 1) the levels of the administration of secondary schools, as a whole and an individual, were at high level (mean = 4.20 and standard deviation = 0.27); 2) professional development of teachers for professional learning community of secondary schools, was at high level (mean = 4.19, and standard deviation = 0.26); and 3) the Administration of secondary schools were: management (X₄), personnel (X₁), and budget (X₂), and all factors were affecting the professional development of teachers for professional learning community of secondary schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office, Phrae Province in overall (). Its statistical significance was at .01 level. The correlation coefficient was equal to 0.840. Effectiveness in the prediction was 70.5 %, and the standard deviation of the prediction was 0.141.
