The 21st- Century School Administrators’ Skills: Affecting Effectiveness of Schools under Mukdahan Primary Educational Service Area Office

The purpose of this research were: 1) to study the level of the 21st century school administrators’ skills; 2) to study the level of effectiveness of schools; 3) to study the relationship between the school administrator’s skill in 21st century and effectiveness of schools; 4) to study a predictive equation of the 21st century school administrators skills affecting effectiveness of the schools; and 5) to study the guidelines for improving the 21st century school administrators’ skills affecting effectiveness of schools under Mukdahan primary educational service area. The samples of this study were school administrators and teachers 327 persons, selected by multi-stage sampling. The instrument for data collection was a rating scale questionnaire. The statistical instruments used in data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, correlation coefficient of Pearson, and stepwise multiple regression analysis.
The findings were as the followings. 1) The level of the 21st century school administrators’ skills was at a high level both in whole aspects and each aspect. 2) The level of effectiveness of schools was at a high level both in whole aspects and each aspect. 3) The relationship between the 21st century school administrators’ skills and effectiveness of schools showed a positive correlation at a high level, statistical significance of the .01 level. 4) The school administrators’ skills in 21st century were able to predict the effectiveness of schools at a statistical significance of the .01 level, with a predictive power of 78.00. Also, 5) The guidelines for developing the school administrator’s skill in 21st century affecting effectiveness of schools involved three aspects: communication skills digital technology skills and teamwork skills.
