The Local Development Participation of Residents in Pathum Thani Municipality, Muang District, Pathum Thani Province

Abstract

          This research article aimed 1) to study the level of residents’ local development participation in Pathum Thani Municipality, Muang District, Pathum Thani Province; 2) to compare the residents’ local development participation in Pathum Thani Municipality, Muang District, Pathum Thani Province; and 3) to study the relationship between perception of local development information and the residents’ local development participation in Pathum Thani Municipality, Muang District, Pathum Thani Province. There were 399 people in the sample group. The research instrument was a questionnaire. The statistical tools used in the research were frequency, percentage, mean, Standard deviation, t-test, F-test (One-Way ANOVA) and Pearson’s correlation coefficient.

           The results of the research revealed that the level of the residents’ local development participation in Pathum Thani Municipality, Muang District, Pathum Thani Province generally was at a moderate level. The residents’ perception of the local development information was at a moderate level. The hypothesis testing results showed that people, of various ages, educational levels, and occupations, participated in the local development differently. However, those with various ages and average monthly incomes did not participate in the local development differently. Their information perception was related in the same direction as their local development participation in Pathum Thani Municipality, Muang District, Pathum Thani Province.
