People's Attitudes towards the Political Leadership of the Governor of Bangkok

Abstract

          The research aimed 1) to study the level of political leadership of the Bangkok Metropolitan Governor, based on the attitude of Bangkok residents; 2) to compare personal factors and political leadership of the Bangkok Metropolitan Governor; 3) to study relationship between leader behaviors and political leadership of the Bangkok Metropolitan Governor; and 4) to offer recommendations related to the political leadership of Bangkok Metropolitan Governor. It was a quantitative research; population was Bangkok residents with the voting rights for the Bangkok Metropolitan Governor.  A sample consisted of 400 people. A questionnaire was used to collect data.

           The results showed: 1) the level of political leadership of the Bangkok Metropolitan Governor was at the highest ; 2) in terms of comparing personal factors and political leadership of the Bangkok Metropolitan Governor, there were four different personal factors-sex, age, education, and occupation, related to the various levels of political leadership of the Bangkok Metropolitan Governor; 3) in the aspect of relationship between factors affecting political leadership and political leadership, it was found that both leadership traits and leadership behavior factors had a positive relationship with the political leadership of the Bangkok Metropolitan Governor; and 4) research recommendations were that it was recommending that the Bangkok Metropolitan Governor should be qualified with  leadership traits such as physical appearance, personality, and competence in problem solving, as well as, expression of confidence with people.
