Abstract

          This research aimed: 1) to study the level of people's participation in Wat Wisetkan and Wat Chim Thayakawat community development; 2) to study factors related to people's participation in Wat Wisetkan and Wat Chim Thayakawat community development; and 3) recommend a guideline of people's participation in Wat Wisetkan and Wat Chim Thayakawat community development. This was a quantitative research. The sample consisted of 304 people, living in the Wat Wisetkan and Wat Chim Thayakawat community, Siriraj Subdistrict, Bangkok Noi District, Bangkok. The questionaires were used to collect data.  Statistical tools were Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, Pearson's Moment Product Correlation, and Multiple Regression Analysis.

           The results showed that (1) the overall level of participation was moderate; (2) democratic political culture and leadership factors based on sufficiency economy concept were positively correlated with people's participation in the Wat Wisetkan and Wat Chim Thayakawat community development with a statistical significance of 0.10.; and (3) a guideline recommendation for people’s participation in this community development was increasing the form of public relations about community engagement, allowing the public to share their opinions and suggestions, and encouraging people to initiate community policies.
