The Impact of the New Normal Community’s Adaptation in the Situation of COVID-19 Outbreak: A Case Study of Songkhla Province

Abstract

          This objective of article was to study the impact of the new normal community’s adaptation in the situation of COVID-19 outbreak: a case study of Songkhla Province in terms of economy, health, society and environment, information technology and education by using a questionnaire to collect data from 400 samples of households in the area of Muang Songkhla District, Sathing Phra District, and Khlong Hoi Khong District, Songkhla Province, and analyzing the data by mean and percentage. As results, 1) for an economic aspect, the income, spending, and savings were reduced. There was no new career creation. However, the new skills were needed for the future employment and household-money spending plans. 2) In terms of health, there were more adjustments of health care behaviors and compliance with the disease prevention measures regulated by the government. 3) For social and environmental aspects, a reduction in community activities occurred but an increase of social media use appeared. Household members learned increasingly to share and take care of others. 4) For information technology, make people had an online access to news sources by self-communication devices use. 5) For educational aspect, it was necessary to study online. There was a spending increase of educational equipment. However, it saved the commute expenses.
