Learning Center: Technique Knowledge and Learning Enhancement Process with the Buddhist Creation Way for Increasing Community Product Value of at the Right Livelihood Communities in Phrae Province

Abstract

          This study was conducted with its main objectives: 1. to manage the body of knowledge; 2. to develop techniques and product creation processes in order to increase product value; 3. to enhance learning skills with the creative Buddhist way; and 4. to build network and market mechanism to increase the product value of at the Right Livelihood Community in Phrae province. A qualitative research approach was used; the data were collected from 135 participants, using in-depth interview, focus group discussion, and behavior observation form concerning participatory action.

           The results revealed as follows.

  1. Knowledge management and product creation processes at the Right Livelihood Communities in Phrae province consisted of 5 elements: knowledge identification, knowledge creation and acquisition, knowledge organization, knowledge sharing, and knowledge utilization.
  2. The development of techniques and creative production processes to increase value of the Right Livelihood Communities’ products were a proactive curriculum design based on their needs and experts brainstorming. Two curricula were for people to advance their professional skills and for students.
  3. Enhancement of the creative Buddhist-oriented learning for increasing the product value at the Right Livelihood Communities was regarded as lifelong learning and active learning. In order to encourage the learning engagement, the developed curriculum was distributed to youth and community members.
  4. Building a network and market mechanism to raise the value of the products produced by the Right Livelihood Communities was the partnership establishment between the government and public organizations.
