Synthesis of Chinese Language and Tourism Research Articles In ThaiJo Database

Abstract

     This article aimed to survey and synthesize the research on Chinese language and tourism studies in the ThaiJo database. A qualitative research methodology was used to synthesize three issues: 1) the content of the researchs; 2) the research methods; and 3) the research area. ATLAS.ti 22 was used to code and build a data network before synthesizing. Then the result was discussed with descriptive statistics.The study revealed that 50 papers published in the ThaiJo database, by 46% of the research, focused on language skills and language services, and by 20% on media, textbooks, and innovation in tourism. There were 32 papers published in Thai and 18 papers written in Chinese. The most common research method was the mixed method at 58%, followed by the qualitative method by 30%, and the quantitative method by 12%, respectively.The three main research areas were Bangkok, Lampang, and Phetchaburi Provinces.
