The School Administrators’ Roles Affecting to the Improvement of Student Achievement at the Chiang Rai Municipality Schools

This research aimed to study 1)the school administrators’ roles at the Chiang Rai municipality schools, 2)the improvement of student achievement at the Chiang Rai municipality schools, and 3)the school administrators’ roles affecting the improvement of student achievement at the Chiang Rai municipality schools. The sample size of 181 people consisted of administrators and teachers in at the Chiang Rai municipality schools. The instrument was the questionnaire with five-level scale including the level of administrative behavior and vision of administrators. The reliability was 0.95. The statistical tools used in data analysis were percentage (%), mean (), standard deviation (S.D.), and multiple regressions of Stepwise regression method.
The results showed that 1)the school administrators’ roles at the Chiang Rai municipality schools, as a whole and on all aspects, were at high level. With consideration from maximum to minimum, the roles were listed as: coordinator, educational reformer, and administrator in charge of the institute missions, respectively. 2)The improvement of the student achievement at the Chiang Rai municipality schools, as a whole and on all aspects, was at high level. With consideration from maximum to minimum the roles were listed as: management, budgets supports, learning process, representative parents, learners, and teachers, respectively. The school administrators’ roles affecting the improvement of student achievement at the Chiang Rai municipality schools were: administrator in charge of the institute missions (X1) and educational reformer (X3). All factors affected the improvement of student achievement at the Chiang Rai municipality schools in overall (Ytot). Its statistical significance was at .05 level with the following regression analysis. Ytot = 1.145 + 0.376X1 +0.339X3
