The Political Popularity of the Palangpracharath Party in Bangkok

Abstract

     The purpose of this research was: 1) to study the level of popularity of the Palangpracharath Party in the view of the Thai people; and 2) to study the factors affecting the popularity of the Palangpracharath Party in the view of the Thai people. The samples used in this research were 400 respondents from the people living in the South Thonburi District Bangkok such as Phasi Charoen, Bangkae, Nong Khaem, Bang Khun Thain, Bang Bon, Rat Burana and Thung Khru) by using questionnaires as a research tool. The collected data were analysed with the descriptive statistics such as percentage, mean and standard deviation, inferential statistics, and the t test and F test. The results showed that 400 respondents expressed their opinions about the popularity of the Palangpracharath Party with an average score between 1.81-2.56 It was at a low opinion level. There were two questions with the moderate opinion level at 2.68-2.69: Palangpracharath Party had a policy to create a memorable image to the people; and the leader of the Palangpracharath Party had a unique personality different from the other party leaders.
