The purposes of this research were (1) to study the behavior of five-precept observance in the Five-precept Keeping Village Project by the Buddhists in Mueang district, Loei province, (2) to compare the behavior of five-precept observance in the Five-precept Keeping Village Project by the Buddhists with different gender, age, educational level, marriage status, occupation and salary in Mueang district, Loei province, and (3) to study problems, problem solution, and guidelines to support the behavior of five-precept observance in the Five-precept Keeping Village Project by the Buddhists in Mueang district, Loei province.
The research findings were as follows:
The behavior of five-precept observance in the Five-precept Keeping Village Project by the Buddhists in Mueang district, Loei province was found to be overall at always, as follows: restraint from intoxicants and drugs that caused heedlessness, restraint from killing, slaughtering and hurting lives and bodies restraint from telling lies and destroying other persons, including their welfare, by speech, restraint from stealing, misappropriation, embezzlement and asset annihilation, and restraint from sexual misconduct that was considered as the abuse of another person’s beloved one, harassment of another person’s reputation and mind, and disgrace of another’s person’s family, respectively. problem solution, and guidelines to support the behavior of five-precept observance were support for traditional Chinese vegetarianism or vegetarianism for better health, tendance from families, promotion for quality of life in childhood, cultivation of good conscience to consider subsequent problems, purity preservation, cultivation on honesty and integrity and hazardous dangers of intoxicants and drugs.
