Motivation for visiting important temples in Lampang and elements of temple tourist attractions affecting temple tourism behavior in Lampang province of Thai tourists

Abstract

          This research article aims to study Thai tourists’ motivation for visiting temples in Lampang province; and to study the factors and components of temple tourist attractions, influencing on their tourism behavior for temple visits in Lampang. This is an exploratory research by using a questionnaire. The sample group used in the study consisted of 400 people and the researcher used descriptive statistics, and average percentages. The participants were mostly female between 41-50 years old, single, bachelor's degree and residents in Lampang province. The purpose of visiting temples in Lampang province is to relax / travel. They visited this temple the most; they visited it at least three times; and they came with family, friends, and lovers the most. The most important element of tourist attraction is transportation, followed by attraction, hospitality and the facilities. With consideration of each aspect, it was found that the attraction of tourism overall; the focus was on a high level with an average of 4.19 in terms of facilities. Overall, the focus is on a high level with an average of 4.04 in terms of elements of tourism attractions in transportation. Overall, the focus is on a high level with an average of 4.35 in terms of component factors of hospitality tourism. Overall, the focus is on a high level. with a mean of 4.06.

           There was a high level of opinion about the overall tourism motivation with a mean of 4.07. When considering each side, the researcher found that the status and reputation motivation with the mean of 4.09; the cultural motivation with the mean of 4.08; the physical motivation and the interpersonal motivation with the same mean, of 4.06.
