The Relationship between compensation and livelihood factors in the current era among working people in Muang District, Lampang Province

Abstract

          The purpose of this study was to study the relationship between compensation and livelihood factors in the current era among working people in Muang District, Lampang Province.  The study sample for the research consisted of 400 respondents. Questionnaire was used as a tool for this study; and the collected data were processed through statistical value including percentage, mean, correlation and multiple regression analysis. The findings showed that compensation factors among working people in Mueang District, Lampang Province were at a high level as overall. With analysis of each aspect, it was found that the items with the highest average value were: the position allowance in appropriation and satisfactory, then, the overtime payment rate in accordance with the law; and additionally salary increase for relevant positions other than the regular one. The livelihood factors among working people showed an overall result at a high level. With analysis of each aspect, it was found that the highest average factor was an investment in GSB lottery purchase; followed by long-term savings; consumption in goods and services with suitable prices; and the ability to pay monthly debts.

           The correlation coefficient of the compensation factors is associated toward the livelihood factors and showed the same positive direction of relationship in all aspects. Regarding the influence of compensation factors on livelihood factors, the results of the analysis revealed that the compensation factors had a positive effect on the livelihood factors, consumption, debt, investment, and savings.
