Guidelines for Developing a Learning Organization for Change Readiness

Abstract

          This academic article aimed: 1) to study the concept of characteristics of a learning organization; 2) tostudy the processes involved in developing a learning organization; and 3) to suggest guidelines for developing a learning organization for change readiness.In terms of guidelines for developing a learning organization for change readiness, the author proposed  the followings: 1) establishing the organizational visions and strategies to reflect an awareness of the needs to learn; 2) restructuring the organization to be flexible and to enhance individual learning; 3) developing personnel and promoting them for self-development and life-long learning; 4)developing collaboration among teams and promoting knowledge sharing; 5) developing knowledge management systems by searching for new knowledge, creating new knowledge, storing and retrieving knowledge, transferring and utilizing knowledge through various forms of knowledge sharing; 6)developing technological systems and utilizing technology to support knowledge search and knowledge dissemination; 7)assessing organizational learning outcomes at individual, team, and organization levels; and 8) developing incentive systems with the rewards supporting the learning of individuals, teams, and organizations for continuity of organizational learning.
