Abstract

The development of the country in the past has the development center in Bangkok. As a result, Bangkok has become a rapidly growing metropolis that attracts people from all regions to make a living in the capital city. Part of the migration of those people is increasing the livelihoods of the poor from the provinces, providing the opportunity for the urban poor to have more access to housing. In the past, the government has made several policies on housing development and improving them according to the situation of the demand for land in urban areas. Individual government policies, such as the arrangement of housing as a housing plan, flat housing, land sharing project with landowners for residential development, building Baan Aur-arthorn for people with low income and creating a Baan Mankong Project to provide the poor with security in their housing, etc. The implementation of the development of the Baan Mankong Project of the Community Organization Development Institute (CODI) is the project that emphasizes the participation of communities in building housing security for the urban poor. The project has also applied the concept of self-help, by setting up a savings group to manage the project. It can help the urban poor to have a more stable housing and the ability to improve their self-reliance in management.
