The case study of the rehabilitation facilities in Pattani province.</p> <p><strong><u>Methodology</u></strong> This study is qualitative research. The target groups of this study consist of 40 people, including experts and those involved in the treatment process. The qualifications of informants are considered as follows: (1.1) leaders and committees of rehabilitation facilities, 5 people (1.2) officers and drug specialists, 10 people (1.3) patients receiving treatment, 20 people (1.4) parents or relatives of the patients receiving treatment, 5 people. The number of target groups may increase depending on the saturation of the information obtained from the interview. The interviews are used as a tool for data collection for the research. The researcher presents the results in the descriptive text explaining the details of the findings.</p> <p><strong><u>Research findings</u></strong> The details are as follows: (1) factors and conditions of the success of Muslim families in the treatment of drug addicts in Pattani province. It is found that; (1.1) families are warm and family members are attentive to each other. (1.2) parents must have time for family members. (1.3) parents pay close attention to their children. (1.4) parents understand their children’s behavior and polish them regularly. (1.5) family members are being a good example, especially regarding drugs. (1.6) being faithful to religious principles. (1.7) continually nurturing the children, especially in self-improvement and occupation, to reduce the free time for those who have undergone treatment. (2) factors and conditions of the failure of Muslim families in the treatment of drug addicts in Pattani province. It is found that; (2.1) family, for example, lack of warmth from parents as a child, deprivation from parents-in-law which leads to divorce problems, divorces caused by addicts hiding the truth to their wife, parents not accepting their child’s identity, and family interfering in the treatment process of the rehab facility. (2.2) children and youth lack close care and attention. The burden of caring for drug addicts was negligently pushed on the rehab facility. (2.3) poor parenting and nurturing processes can lead to current mental effects. (2.4) time spent in the rehabilitation process where parents do not have time to care for them is a major cause of provocation to use drugs to relieve the self-depressive stress, leading to the use of drugs that are easy to obtain as another option. (2.5) putting too much expectation on those who have undergone treatment can put pressure on them.</p> <p><strong><u>Contributions:</u></strong>  This research has helped to know the factors and conditions of success and failure of Muslim families in drug treatment which will be of great benefit to drug addiction treatment facilities and their families in applying the knowledge from research to prevent re-addiction among children and youth and their families.
