The target group was 30 readers, who registered in the online chat novel platform. The research instruments included <br>1) an online chat novel using storytelling technique, 2) an assessment form 3) an awareness of learning and innovation skills assessment questionnaire, 4) a satisfaction questionnaire. The data were analyzed by content analysis, mean, standard deviation, and t-test. The results were: the online chat novel using storytelling technique consisted of 5 elements, 1) choose a topic 2) create a plot 3) create characters and their characteristics according to the selected situations 4) write an online chat novel 5) publish an online chat novel in the platform. There were 11 episodes. The quality of the developed online chat novel using storytelling technique was appropriate at a high level according to experts’ opinion ( <img title="\bar{x}" src="https://latex.codecogs.com/gif.latex?\bar{x}">=4.21) with suggestions to use simple and brief conversation, adjust words to be less academic and insert narrations to clearly divide each chapter. The level of awareness of learning and innovation skills of readers after reading the online chat novel was significantly higher than the level of awareness before reading the online chat novel at 0.05 level of significance. The level of satisfaction towards the online chat novel using storytelling technique to enhance the awareness of learning and innovation skills was at the highest level ( <img title="\bar{x}" src="https://latex.codecogs.com/gif.latex?\bar{x}">=4.68). The readers thought that the online chat novel was a new media that educated and entertained readers at the same time.
